Switzerland and Azerbaijan hold political consultations

On 13–14 April, a Swiss delegation led by Pierre-Yves Fux, Assistant State Secretary and Head of the Eurasia Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, visited Baku for bilateral political consultations.

Swiss delegation meets Foreign Minister J. Bayramov

During the visit, the Swiss delegation held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. Discussions, both during the ministerial meeting and the broader political consultations, took place in a constructive and open atmosphere, reflecting the positive spirit of engagement between the two sides.

A wide range of topics was addressed, including bilateral relations, multilateral cooperation, and regional developments. Particular attention was given to identifying opportunities for further collaboration and strengthening dialogue on issues of mutual interest.

The meetings underscored the ongoing commitment of both Baku and Bern to deepening their partnership, highlighting a shared interest in expanding cooperation across key sectors and maintaining regular high-level exchanges.

In addition to the official programme, the Swiss delegation conducted a city tour of Baku and visited the Swiss Embassy, gaining further insight into the local context and the work of the Swiss representation on the ground.
