In Ganja, the Ambassador met with the Head of the Executive Authority, Niyazi Bayramov. Mr. Bayramov outlined the city’s industrial strengths, its prominent role in the country’s education system, and the major international events it has hosted in recent years.

Discussions also focused on prospective areas of cooperation, including the possibility of organizing an international conference in Ganja in connection with World Urban Forum 13, scheduled to take place in Baku in May 2026.

During the visit, Ambassador Stähli toured the Azeraluminium Plant, a leading enterprise in Azerbaijan’s non-ferrous metallurgy sector, and was briefed on its production processes and export capabilities.

The program further included visits to Ganja’s historical and cultural landmarks, such as the Ganja Memorial Complex, Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, Shah Abbas Mosque, Bottle House, Khan's Garden, and the Museum of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic of 1918-1920.
